What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?

INDIVIDUAL

THERAPY

Individual therapy focuses on addressing mental health issues and emotional healing. It involves exploring past and present experiences to understand their impact on your current well-being, using therapeutic techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Therapy is conducted by licensed professionals who diagnose and treat mental health conditions while adhering to strict ethical and confidentiality guidelines.

INDIVIDUAL

COACHING

Coaching is a goal-oriented and future-focused approach that helps individuals achieve specific personal or professional objectives. It emphasizes creating action plans and strategies to enhance performance and personal development without delving into past experiences or diagnosing mental health conditions. Coaches use motivational techniques and positive psychology to guide clients, offering flexibility and accountability to ensure progress towards their goals.

Lacey Twardowski

Limited Licensed Psychologist, MA, LLP

I work with clients to create a healthy, helping relationship in a safe and supportive space that promotes growth, discovery, and healing. With over a decade of experience in therapy and nearly 15 years in sexuality and sexual health, I approach therapy with an open mind and judgment-free attitude. My focus includes anxiety, ADHD, and diversity, emphasizing inclusive care and addressing biases that prevent proper treatment. Therapy offers a path to rediscovering identities and improving areas where support is needed.

Leslie Trentham

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LMSW

As a dedicated trauma therapist, I am passionate about empowering women to heal from their past experiences & reclaim their lives. I specialize in guiding women through the complexities of trauma, offering a safe and supportive space for exploration & growth. I understand that intersectional identities—such as race, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, disability, etc—play a significant role in how trauma is experienced & processed. I am committed to addressing these diverse experiences, recognizing that each woman’s journey is unique.

My therapeutic approach is tailored to meet individual needs, ensuring that all aspects of identity are honored in the healing process. Using evidence-based techniques and compassionate listening, I help my clients navigate their emotions, build resilience, and foster self-compassion.

My goal is to create a nurturing environment where women feel heard, validated, and inspired to embrace their true selves. If you’re ready to take the next step in your healing journey, I invite you to reach out.
