What is Partnerships+ & Couple’s Therapy?

We see you.

Whether having difficulty in your current relationship or just looking to deepen your bond, our couples counseling is here to help. By examining the areas of your life and relationships that are causing you distress and through realignment with self, coping can become more achievable. As individuals, oftentimes we are going through personal experiences that impact our overall ability to be present and cope with the stressors that come our way. Relationships can be a trigger for many of us as we work to navigate the world through two differing perspectives.

Our communication isn’t working anymore.

Communication is often the primary area of concern because the manner in which you and your partner are communicating isn’t conducive to conflict resolution or feeling heard. When we feel invisible in our partnerships, it leads to overall dissatisfaction in life; making finding joy difficult. Our couples therapists can help you learn new ways to communicate with one another that helps you feel heard while working toward a solution instead of gridlock.

Who am I?

It is thought that our identity changes every 10 years or so, similar to our tastebuds changing. As we go through these changes, we may not even recognize them. Therapy can be a great way to get to know yourself as you may start to experience higher dissatisfaction, disinterest in things, perhaps even your partner, and a heightened sensitivity to stress. At Inner Body Works we prioritize the importance of identity in the therapeutic couple’s process and help you learn to navigate your shifting identity while managing its impact on your relationship.

Like many, if we’ve waited too long to address issues like family planning, financial stress or infidelity, there have been changes in our brains that lead to feeling emotionally distant and unsafe. You are not alone in this and there is hope. We can help you learn how to work through these issues and become closer.

During your first Partnerships+ Therapy session, you’ll have the opportunity to share your reasons for seeking therapy and discuss your goals with Lacey. This initial session is designed to help you and your partners feel comfortable and begin building a therapeutic relationship. Lacey will work to understand your backgrounds, concerns, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This session sets the foundation for a personalized therapy plan tailored to the unique dynamics of your partnership.

Our 75 minute Partnerships+ Therapy intake session is designed to be longer allowing more opportunity for in-depth discussion and exploration of your relationship concerns while also providing enough time to develop effective strategies and interventions. Because we do not take insurance we are able to offer 50 and 75 minute appointments.
